Job Description
Davidson Kempner’s Technology department is responsible for designing, developing, deploying and supporting all of the Firm’s technology  solutions. We are seeking a developer to work on solutions supporting our commercial real estate (CRE) investing activities. The CRE team focuses on distressed and underappreciated opportunities, including debt instruments in the secondary market (public bonds, whole loans, mezzanine debt, loan portfolios, etc.), corporate restructurings, asset acquisition, special situations lending and private equity investments.

    Responsibilities:

    • Work on the design and development of investment analysis and underwriting tools for the commercial real estate business
    • Collaborate closely with the desk to understand requirements and participate in the solution design
    • Design and develop end-to-end solutions encompassing data acquisition, ETL, persistence, analysis and reporting and data visualization
    • Design flexible solutions for large dataset ingestion and distribution
    • Ensure smooth flow from concept through production

    Job Requirements
    Requirements: 
    • 10+ years of development experience
    • Excellent technical skills, including the ability to code in various languages (C#, python, SQL, NoSQL)
    • Strong mathematical / analytical skills
    • Excellent communication skills
    • High energy with the ability to function in a dynamic environment
    • Intellectually curious, eager to learn and able to work autonomously
    • Meticulous attention to detail
    • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
    Pluses:
    • Experience with sharded, distributed databases is a significant plus
    • Data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau)
